I completely missed 4PGP when it first launched on Nintendo Switch, but thanks to a new content update arriving alongside the game’s PlayStation 5 and Steam release, I’ll finally be getting behind the wheel. The update adds a new unlockable vehicle, difficulty adjustments, and several quality-of-life improvements for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 players at no extra cost. Thanks to the publisher, I’ll also be checking the game out on Switch 2 once the update goes live to see how this retro-inspired racer stacks up.
Inspired by classic 90s arcade racers, 4PGP delivers fast-paced racing action that is easy to pick up and enjoy. Up to four players can compete together in local split-screen multiplayer, with difficulty options ranging from Rookie to Expert, ensuring racers of all skill levels can jump in and have fun. The upcoming free update introduces an additional unlockable vehicle, updated difficulty balancing, numerous quality-of-life improvements, and other refinements designed to make the racing experience smoother and more enjoyable than ever.
Players hopping into 4PGP will experience:
• Arcade Racing for Every Skill Level: Four difficulty settings and an Assist Mode help newcomers get started, while experienced racers can test their skills against tougher competition.
• Multiplayer Mayhem: Race with up to four players in local split-screen multiplayer.
• Multiple Game Modes: Jump into Quick Race, compete across a full season in Championship Mode, or perfect every corner in Time Attack.
• Unlockable Tracks and Vehicles: Discover and unlock a growing collection of 14 circuits and 20 vehicles.
• Classic Arcade Spirit: Inspired by the golden age of 90s racing games, 4PGP combines accessible gameplay with modern visuals and smooth performance.
The free update for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 will be available when the PlayStation 5 and Steam versions launch.
