Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will release on December 2, 2025, alongside other platforms, and will be available for Nintendo Switch 2. Players can purchase the game physically, including a Nintendo Switch 2 game-key card, or digitally through the Nintendo eShop.
The Switch 2 version will include cross-progression via Ubisoft Connect, allowing players to continue their adventure seamlessly across all supported platforms.
Developed by Ubisoft Quebec, Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes players on an unforgettable journey through feudal Japan. Powered by the enhanced Anvil engine, the game features a richly detailed open world filled with historical intrigue, cultural depth, and dynamic weather and lighting.
Players take on the roles of Naoe, a skilled shinobi Assassin, and Yasuke, a powerful samurai warrior. Each character offers a distinct combat style and approach to exploration, letting players experience both stealth and strength as they uncover their shared destiny and shape the future of Japan.
As someone who has followed the Assassin’s Creed series since its beginnings, I could not be more excited to see it arrive on the Switch 2. Feudal Japan has been one of the most requested settings in the franchise, and being able to experience it both at home and on the go feels like a landmark moment for Nintendo players.
