Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Beta: Everything You Need to Know, Including Switch 2 Details

More intel has dropped ahead of Friday’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Beta, giving us a better idea of what players can expect across both weekends.

One important thing to note for Switch 2 players: the Beta won’t be accessible on Switch 2 until next weekend, when the Open Beta begins.

Here’s what’s coming:

Beta Rewards

You’ll be able to progress through both weekends of the Beta, rank up, and unlock cosmetic rewards along the way.

Campaign Beta

For the first time ever, players can jump into a Campaign mission before launch. “Entrenched” sees you fighting to stop a nuclear power station from falling into enemy hands.

Mobility Course

The Beta also introduces a dedicated training space where you can get to grips with Modern Warfare 4’s expanded Create a Class system. Operators are now tied to individual loadouts, meaning you can build up to 12 distinct Custom Loadouts. There are 21 Operators available during the Beta.

Progression

Weekend One lets players progress from Level 1 to 20, unlocking new weapons, Equipment, Perks, Field Upgrades, Killstreaks, and the first five Beta Rewards. Weekend Two raises the level cap to 30, while unlocking the remaining weapons, Equipment, Perks, and the final three rewards available during the Beta.

Apex Attachments and Gunny

There are a couple of new additions to the loadout system this year. Apex Attachments unlock powerful effects on fully levelled weapons without taking up an attachment slot. Meanwhile, Gunny can instantly recommend builds using Attachments you’ve already unlocked.

Weapons, Equipment and More

Weekend One will feature 19 Multiplayer weapons, with more becoming available in Weekend Two. Across the Beta, there are also 9 Tacticals, 11 Lethals, 11 Field Upgrades, 17 Killstreaks, and 18 Perks.

Multiplayer Modes

There are six Multiplayer modes available across the Beta:

Team Deathmatch
Domination
Hardpoint
Kill Confirmed
Search and Destroy
Inflation

Inflation is the new mode, where every elimination builds your fortune while also making you a bigger target.

Core 6v6 Maps

Five Core 6v6 maps will be available:

Rooftops
Silkworm
Transit 213
Cachette
Lotus
Kill Block

Kill Block is a dynamic map that reconfigures every two rounds, creating a new combination of three interconnected Slabs. It can be played in classic 3v3 Gunfight, as well as the new 10v10 variant.

Warzone Resurgence

Call of Duty: Warzone Resurgence is coming in Weekend Two, dropping players onto the all-new Zodiac map.
