Diablo IV Arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 Next Week
Nintendo Switch 2 players won’t have to wait much longer to enter the world of Sanctuary, with Blizzard confirming during BlizzCon 2026 that Diablo IV is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 next week. The Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 on 16 September AEST, bringing Blizzard’s action RPG to Nintendo’s latest hardware with cross-platform play and cross-progression. That means if you’ve already been playing Diablo IV elsewhere, you can continue your adventure on Switch 2, while also joining friends playing on other platforms.
Blizzard is also promising an evolving endgame, giving players plenty of reasons to keep returning to Sanctuary after the initial adventure. There’s also some good news for anyone who enjoys playing together on the couch. The Switch 2 version will support two players on the same console, while up to four players can play together online. For a game like Diablo IV, being able to pick up the adventure and take it with you on Nintendo’s handheld is a pretty appealing prospect, particularly when you aren’t giving up cross-play or cross-progression in the process.

Season of Hell’s Legacy Arrives Alongside It
The Switch 2 launch also coincides with the beginning of Diablo IV: Season of Hell’s Legacy, which starts on 16 September AEST. The new season celebrates 30 years of Diablo, bringing elements from across the franchise’s history into Diablo IV. That includes the return of the Prime Evils and Deckard Cain, alongside new rewards and gear inspired by the different eras of the series. It’s a fitting way to launch Diablo IV on Nintendo Switch 2, particularly for longtime fans who have been with the series throughout its 30-year history.
The Amazon Is Coming in 2027
Blizzard isn’t stopping with the launch, either. The legendary Amazon is set to arrive in Diablo IV during the first half of 2027, as part of the game’s first class pack. The Amazon will bring her iconic bow back into the series, while also wielding the javelin, giving players another way to take on the forces of Hell.
After years of waiting, Nintendo players are finally getting their chance to take Diablo IV on the go. For anyone who has been hoping to see Blizzard’s latest trip into Sanctuary on Switch 2, next week can’t come soon enough.
