Farming Simulator 26 Hits Switch This May with a Fresh Take on Farm Life
Well, this is a pleasant surprise, with Farming Simulator 26 being announced by Giants Software this morning. Farming Simulator 23 is still one of my all-time favourite games, and Farming Simulator Signature Edition recently sprouted on the Switch 2, taking up a lot of my spare time.
Now, Farming Simulator 26 is just around the corner. Launching on May 19 for Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, this latest entry introduces a new challenge system designed to give players a bit more structure while still holding onto the relaxing, pick-up-and-play nature the series is known for. You can follow guided objectives to earn rewards or simply take things at your own pace and enjoy farm life your way. Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch Edition are available through selected retailers and the Nintendo eShop. On mobile, the game will be available via the App Store for iPhone and iPad, as well as Google Play for Android devices.
This time around, players will be working across two new maps set in Europe and North America. Whether you prefer building your farm freely or engaging with the optional challenge system, there is flexibility in how you approach your progress. As expected, there is no shortage of things to do. You can cultivate up to 15 different crops, dive into forestry work with heavy machinery, or care for a range of animals, including cows, sheep, chickens, and goats. Expanded production chains also add more depth, letting you refine and grow your agricultural operation over time. On the equipment side, Farming Simulator 26 features more than 120 machines. This includes tractors, harvesters, sprayers, and other essential tools from well-known manufacturers such as Case IH, CLAAS, DEUTZ-FAHR, Fendt, John Deere, KRONE, Kubota, Massey Ferguson, New Holland, and Valtra.
It would appear Farming Simulator 26 is following a similar approach to Farming Simulator 23, focusing on accessibility rather than the deeper simulation found in Farming Simulator Signature Edition. If you enjoyed Farming Simulator 23, there is a good chance you are going to love Farming Simulator 26.
