Farming Simulator: Signature Edition Adds Mod Support on Nintendo Switch 2

“It ain’t much, but it’s honest work.” That iconic farming meme feels pretty fitting right now, because GIANTS Software has continued its mission to bring Farming Simulator: Signature Edition closer in line with other platforms by officially adding ModHub support to the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game. For the first time on a Nintendo platform, players can now browse and download community-made mods directly from the main menu, opening the door to thousands of ways to expand and customise their farming experience.

The newly added ModHub includes more than 4,000 free mods ranging from new agricultural machinery and licensed vehicles to additional maps, production chains, and decorative items. Fan-favourite maps from previous Farming Simulator entries are also available, many of which were created by GIANTS Software themselves.

What makes this especially exciting is that mod support was never guaranteed for the Nintendo Switch 2 version. During my interview with Martin Rabl from GIANTS Software late last year, I asked whether mod support was something the team was exploring for the platform, to which he replied: “We’re still experimenting with the feature and can’t promise that it will be integrated, but we’re hopeful that modding may be possible through a future update.” Seeing that feature now arrive on Nintendo hardware is a huge win for farming fans who wanted the full Farming Simulator experience on the go.

GIANTS Software has also confirmed that every user-submitted mod goes through both automated checks and individual developer testing before being approved for the platform. Additional testing has also been implemented to ensure mods meet Nintendo Switch 2 performance requirements. In the official announcement, Marcel Renke, UGC Platform Specialist at GIANTS Software, said the team was excited to bring the ModHub to an even larger audience and allow Nintendo players to experience community-created content for the very first time. It is also worth noting that the ModHub will continue to grow over time, with new mods being released weekly.

It is shaping up to be a great time to be a farming fan on Nintendo platforms. Farming Simulator 26 launches on Nintendo Switch on May 19, following on from the more approachable and pick-up-and-play style of Farming Simulator 23.

Useful note for Nintendo players comparing the Switch line-up: FS26 is a separate Switch/mobile release from Signature Edition. I keep a source-linked FS26 Switch guide with official store links and platform notes here: https://farmingsim.farm/farming-simulator-26/nintendo-switch

Thank you for sharing the link Tian! I’m currently reviewing FS26 on Switch, and I was really curious about the mobile differences.
