Welcome to our second boss guide for Luigis Mansion. This guide consists of 2 parts, firstly, we have some stairs to climb, and then, we need to beat a boss. I know you’re raring to go so let’s dive right in and get to it!
The Haunted Staircase:
This can be a rather frustrating section of the game that resorts to a trial and error of selecting one of 3 sets of stairs to move up to the next level. The stairs change each time so there’s no “definitive” path, unfortunately…
Thankfully, there’s a tell! Once you fall down your first flight of stairs, you will fight a “greenie” before being able to attempt to climb again. If you look carefully, there are unlit torches on the stairs which is the actual path you take. Depending on how good your memory is, you can climb multiple sets of stairs at a time. The added bonus is that if you slide from higher up, the fake stairs you slide over will stay flat moving forward, helping make your ascent a little easier. One this process is complete, you will reach the top to see a vine dangling from the roof. Suck it up, and use the A button to pull down the wall, allowing you to move onto the Treehouse boss!
Treehouse Boss:
Once you get through the door, head up the small set of stairs and vacuum the pull cord to drop a ladder. Climb the ladder and prepare for Boss Fight number 2. Walk towards the stairs to the Treehouse to trigger the cutscene. Thankfully, this boss is much easier than the Spider Boss, but you still need to take care.
Phase 1:
Phase one is a rather simple affair, just dodge the monsters’ attacks until it takes a leap into the air. Watch for its shadow and move out of the way. Once it comes crashing down, vacuum the pull string that’s visible, exposing the ghost. The Ghost will shield and charge twice, knocking themselves on the head the second time. Flash them with your torch, vacuum them up and prepare for Phase 2!
Phase 2:
Phase 2 plays out the same as phase 1, although now the stair monster is mad it launches fire attacks for its first 3 attacks, followed by a few lunges, before launching into the air. Once again, check for the shadow, evade, and vacuum the pull string. Dodge the ghost attacks until it breaks it shield. Flash and vacuum into phase 3!
Phase 3:
Phase 3 is exactly the same as phase 2. Avoid the fire attacks, keep your distance to avoid getting chomped, evade the air jump, and for the final time, dodge the ghost charge, flash, and vacuum it up, securing the piece of the Dark Moon, and unlocking the next Mansion in your quest!
