How to Defeat Sylux 2nd Encounter – Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
You’ve grabbed the Thunder Chip and are ready to upgrade your arm cannon, but Sylux is bent on standing in your way and testing your skills. Thankfully, for this fight, we have a psychic lasoo and reign Sylux in and take him down a notch. Want to beat Sylux the second time? Here’s how to do it…
In this fight, I’m pleased to report that Sylux has given up his dreams of being a ballerina, so the spin attack is off the repertoire. Sylux will employ a range of attacks in this fight, including starting the fight by running and gunning right toward you.
Sylux will also use a charge sword slash, as we saw in the first fight, as well as directional shockwaves to deal some damage.
Sylux’s aerial attacks return, lobbing projectiles at you which can be shot down to replenish supplies. Keep launching rockets and cannon blasts at him to wear that health bar down.
Sylux will also use a new attack, which is devastating to Samus. He will launch into the air, charging a giant energy ball and slamming it into the ground, electrifying the floor. To counter this, you will need to look up and see a lasoo point, and swing to safety. You can’t stay still, however, as he will follow you around, electrifying the grapple points you cling to, so swing around the room from point to point until his attack ends.
This will reset Sylux attack phase, starting the cycle all over again.
Keep repeating this pattern until you defeat Sylux. Now head back to camp, install the Thunder Chip, and I’ll see you at the next boss fight!
