How to Defeat Sylux Final Encounter – Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
It’s been a long journey full of exploration and battles, but your toughest battle is right here, right now, as Sylux comes back for a final time to try to put an end to Samus’ mission. Want to defeat Sylux for the final time? Here’s how to do it…
This battle consists of several multi-phase fights, and you’re in for a long fight.
For the first phase, you will be fighting alongside your Federation Force, who lend a hand in wearing Sylux down. During this phase, you may need to perform mid-battle rezzes for your companions. To do this, switch to your psychic visor and “scan” your downed ally. You will need every soldier in the fight!
During this first phase, Sylux will spawn 3 tentacles with weak points at the end of each one. When you destroy a weak spot, the tentacle will drop, allowing you to use your grapple beam on it to tear it off. If you’re having trouble targeting the tentacles, try switching to your missile, which has a small homing range to make life easier. Once you remove all the tentacles, Sylux will drop his shield and be vulnerable. Use this short window to focus fire and whittle his health down as much as possible. Sylux will then reshield and resummon his tentacles, this time using a different elemental attack.
The second part of this first phase will be lava tentacles, paying homage to the lava belt. Sylux’s tentacles will spit lava balls out, as well as shoot fire beams. Do your best to avoid the lava on the floor and blast away at the tentacles. They may grab and bite into you if you get too close. If this happens, mash the A button to free yourself and mitigate damage.
Silux will return to spawning green tentacles; this time, there will be 4 of them. Repeat the process again to destroy weak spots, grapple with downed tentacles, and tear them off. These phases will repeat with ice and thunder tentacles, so chip away at the weak spots, pull them off when you can, and rinse and repeat.
Phase 2 will separate you from your allies, dragging you into a psychic tunnel. This phase will simply require you to do your best to dodge Sylux’s attacks while attacking him as much as you can. Eventually, you will chip away roughly half his health, which will move the fight to phase 3.
The third and final phase of this fight is going to be tough. Sylux will employ shockwave attacks, sweeping beam attacks, directional shockwaves, a similar shockwave attack that requires you to morph ball under, and Sylux will even try to steal your energy with his own morph ball. To counter this, you can charge into him as a morph ball to recover your energy tank, something I found out way too late in the fight. Chip away at his health while he’s in his morph mode by dropping mines and psychic bombs. After this section, Sylux will use projectile attacks and will float above the ground, charging a huge attack. This will be the end of you if you don’t act fast, so switch to your psychic visor and use a guided beam to hit Sylux before he can unleash the attack.
If successful, Sylux will return to using shockwaves and other attacks before trying to charge up the big move again. Simply use that guided beam to take him down, do as much damage as you can, and finally defeat the blue menace.
Now, I won’t spoil anything from here, but I really hoped you enjoyed Metroid Prime 4 as much as I did. Thank you for choosing to watch my guides. I really hoped they helped. For all things Nintendo, don’t forget to like, subscribe, and check out whatsitlike.com.au.
