How to Defeat Sylux in the Volt Forge – Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
You’ve hedgetrimmed plants, raced motorbikes, and even defeated a Flight Drone, but now it’s time to face Sylux in the Volt Forge. Thankfully, we have a few tricks up our sleeve since we last ran into them in the opening minutes of the game. Want to cut Silux down to size? Here’s how to do it…
Sylux will start this fight by gunning and charging at you. Simply return fire and keep your distance. Sylux will also do a long-distance sword charge where they will lunge forward and to a large sweeping arc. Do your best to dodge out of the way and give yourself some space by lighting them up with rockets and your arm cannon. Other attack patterns Sylux will employ are summoning projectiles, which you can shoot down for resources, as well as jumping in the air to do a ground pound that sends out a shockwave.
Do your best to avoid these attacks while returning fire until Sylux starts a tornado-like attack. While in this form, Sylux is invulnerable to both rockets and arm cannon fire, so turn into your morph ball and drop some psychic bombs to trip them up. The trick is to gauge the distance so you know when to drop the bombs, which is usually the width of one of the glass panels on the floor. You will need to repeat this pattern a few times to stun them, allowing you to deal some damage.
Sylux will then return to their first phase again, this time launching into the air to perform a mortar-like attack, and the ground pound for the first phase. Keep the damage up while avoiding all the projectiles they throw at you, and they will eventually return to the tornado attack phase.
Once again, turn into the morph ball and lay down some psychic bombs to trip them up, dazing them so you can keep unloading some hurt. If you don’t get enough damage in, Sylux will return to the aerial phase of the attack patterns.
Eventually, Sylux will be defeated, leaving you with an Energy core upgrade to further your mission. Jump on that bike and head to tower 3… I’ll see you at the next boss fight! If this guide helped, feel free to like the video, and if it’s not too much to ask, drop a sub.
