How to Get MOMO in Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Switch 2 Edition
If you’ve started playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on Nintendo Switch 2, you might have noticed there’s a brand-new Blade waiting to be discovered. MOMO is exclusive to the Switch 2 Edition, and unlike many of the game’s Blades, she isn’t locked away behind the later stages of the adventure. MOMO is surprisingly easy to obtain. Let’s find out how!
How to Get MOMO
The good news is that MOMO can be unlocked surprisingly early in Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. Once you’ve acquired Poppi, return to Tora’s House in Torigoth, and once you enter the house, it will trigger the quest Tora’s Secret Stash. This will trigger some exposition before you are handed a Pretty Core Crystal. To complete the quest, open the Bond Blades menu and use the Pretty Core Crystal just like you would any other Core Crystal. MOMO will then be summoned from the Pretty Core Crystal and become immediately usable. And that’s all there is to it! You don’t need to wait until later in the story to start using MOMO. It’s worth noting that Tora’s Secret Stash isn’t MOMO’s Blade Quest. Later in the game, you’ll be able to start a separate Blade Quest called The Home of the Soul, which expands on MOMO and her story.
MOMO’s Stats
MOMO is primarily a healing Blade, so don’t expect her to be topping the damage charts. Her real strength comes from keeping the party alive while providing a few useful bonuses along the way. She uses the unique Bunnie weapon and has access to a number of abilities that make her a great support option. Most notably, MOMO can heal the entire party during battle, and her healing ability can be used fairly frequently. She also has a few tricks that make her useful outside of simply keeping everyone alive. Her Rare Hunter ability increases enemy drop rates by 60%, while 100-Series System gives her a 60% chance of adding an element when performing a Blade Combo. MOMO also has a unique Field Skill called 100-Series Observation, which gives her the ability to access interdimensional phenomena. It’s a skill exclusive to MOMO, giving you another reason to keep her around as you explore. Overall, MOMO is less about dealing huge amounts of damage and more about giving your party some extra support. Between her healing, defensive Blade Arts and useful passive abilities, she can be a surprisingly handy addition to the team.
For a new Blade that can be unlocked so early in the adventure, MOMO is a pretty fantastic addition to Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
