How to Learn Dive in Pokémon Pokopia
Pokopia’s 2.0 update is here alongside the Bubbly Basin DLC, bringing a bunch of new features to the game. One of the biggest additions is the ability to Dive, and it’s available to all players whether you purchase the DLC or not. Here’s how to unlock the Dive ability in Pokopia.
Before you can unlock the Dive ability, there are a few prerequisites you’ll need to complete. First, you’ll need to unlock Bleak Beach and finish the “Raise the Environment Level!” quest there. You’ll also need to have unlocked both the Jump and Surf abilities, as you’ll need them to reach the quest giver. It’s also worth noting that you don’t need to finish the main story before unlocking Dive or starting the Bubbly Basin DLC. As long as you’ve met the prerequisites above, you’re free to dive into the new content.
Once you’ve completed the prerequisites, or if you’d already completed them before updating the game, you’ll receive a pop-up message asking you to meet Professor Tangrowth at Bleak Beach. Head there and speak with the professor. They’ll point out a mysterious new island that has appeared offshore and ask if you’ve noticed it before. It doesn’t matter how you respond, as Professor Tangrowth will ask you to investigate the island.
Use your Surf ability to reach the island and speak with Manaphy. Feeling hungry, Manaphy will ask you to collect five bundles of seaweed. Thankfully, the island is littered with seaweed, so gather a stack of five and return to Manaphy. In return, you’ll receive a lesson on how to Dive. To test your new ability, Manaphy will ask you to retrieve a treasure from a cave on the island. Dive activates automatically when you enter deep water, so simply jump in, swim to the bottom, and collect the Poké Ball from the pedestal. Surface, return to Manaphy, and you’ll officially unlock the Dive ability.
Dive is a fantastic new feature in Pokopia, and it’s essential if you want to unlock the Bubbly Basin DLC. It’s also great that the ability is available to everyone, as it means even players with the vanilla version of Pokopia can explore underwater, create new builds, and clean up areas beneath the waves.
