New No Man’s Sky Expedition sets Players Adrift in an Abandoned Universe

Arthur C. Clarke once said, “Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying” Sean Murray and the team at HelloGames are now putting that concept into action by announcing Expedition 13: Adrift, which sees you completely alone and abandoned in the universe. There will be no NPCs, no shops, and no help in order to invoke a feeling of what it is to be truly lost in the infinite…

This Expedition promises to provide a very different survival experience with no shortcuts or exploits able to be used to complete it, and with sandworms and fiend eggs rampant in this hostile and desolate world. Buildings are rusted and destroyed, and the landscape it littered with the graves of other travelers that will push the narrative forward. In keeping with the desolate theme, players will be able to uncover and recruit a ghostly frigate shrouded in mystery to own a piece of this lonely universe.

While all of this sounds a bit heavy, there are some amazing rewards to unlock during this journey, including a unique hauler in the form of “The Iron Vulture.” Players will also be able to earn a unique stealth paint customisation update for future starship construction, a gnawing scuttler companion, and wrecks for base building. This expedition can be started from the Space Anaomolay, or by starting a new save and will run for 7 weeks. It’s out now on all platforms, but unfortunately, Switch owners will have to be patient for a few days as the update undergoes certification.

Will you be exploring the vast emptiness of space when Adrift drops?
