Nintendo continues Piracy Crusade with Steam Takedown

Fresh off the success of taking down Switch hacker, Doug Bowser (yes, that is his real name) Nintendo continues their crusade of taking down Emulators and Pirates with a DMCA Takedown of the Dolphin Gamecube Emulator on Steam.

Dolphin Developers confirmed this news on their website stating…

“It is with much disappointment that we have to announce that the Dolphin on Steam release has been indefinitely postponed. We were notified by Valve that Nintendo has issued a cease and desist citing the DMCA against Dolphin’s Steam page, and have removed Dolphin from Steam until the matter is settled. We are currently investigating our options and will have a more in-depth response in the near future.”

While I agree that piracy hurts developers, I hope that Nintendo moves forward in making their amazing back catalog of games available whether paid or as a part of the Nintendo Switch Online package.

This gamer will keep his fingers crossed.
