Rhythm Paradise Groove Marches Onto Switch
Nintendo has kicked off the Direct with a look at Rhythm Paradise Groove, the latest entry in the long-running rhythm game series.
Featuring bright, colourful visuals and simple, accessible gameplay, players will tap along to the beat to trigger all sorts of quirky on-screen actions. Even as someone new to the series, it looks easy to pick up while still offering plenty of variety.
The game includes more than 80 rhythm challenges, alongside a brand-new RPG-inspired mode that lets players cast spells and battle using rhythm-based actions. Multiplayer is also a major focus, with four-player support and more than 30 cooperative and competitive rhythm games to enjoy with friends and family.
Rhythm Paradise Groove launches on Nintendo Switch on July 2, with pre-orders available now.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword Slashes Onto Switch 2 This September
Capcom has brought a fresh look at Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most visually impressive games shown during the Direct so far.
Set in Edo-era Kyoto, the latest trailer showcased detailed environments, intense sword combat, and plenty of supernatural enemies known as Genma. Combat appears to place a strong emphasis on timing, with parries, deflections, and powerful Oni abilities all playing a key role in battle.
The action looked fast and satisfying, with players cutting through waves of enemies while making use of a range of Oni ornaments and special techniques. Nintendo also confirmed motion control support for those wanting a more immersive sword-fighting experience.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 25, with pre-orders available now.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Brings Epic Fantasy Action to Switch 2
One of the biggest surprises of the Direct so far has been the announcement of Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen for Nintendo Switch 2.
This expanded edition includes the new land of Norgan, giving players even more to explore in Capcom’s sprawling fantasy world. The fan-favourite Pawn system also returns, allowing players to recruit AI companions and build a party tailored to their playstyle.
The trailer showcased enormous monsters, dramatic battles, and some genuinely impressive visuals running on Nintendo Switch 2. From towering creatures to chaotic encounters packed with magic and swordplay, it looks like the kind of grand fantasy adventure that feels right at home on Nintendo’s new hardware.

Stellar Blade Confirmed for Switch 2
The stylish action game Stellar Blade has officially been announced for Nintendo Switch 2. While details were kept brief, Nintendo confirmed a 2026 release window for the highly anticipated adventure.
Orbitalz Launches This September
Cooperative anime-inspired action puzzle game Orbitalz received another showing during the Direct. Featuring colourful visuals and teamwork-focused gameplay, the Switch exclusive launches on September 3.
Rayman Legends Retold Gets a New Trailer
Ubisoft has shared another look at Rayman Legends Retold, highlighting new story content alongside the gorgeous hand-drawn visuals that made the original so memorable. The package also includes Rayman Origins, giving players even more platforming goodness when it launches on October 1.
Big Walk Looks Like a Blast With Friends
The latest game from developer House House, Big Walk, looks set to deliver plenty of laughs. Featuring adorable penguin-like characters, the cooperative adventure appears to focus on exploration, communication, and chaotic multiplayer fun. Cross-platform play is supported, with the game launching on August 4.
One Piece Grand Gourmet Announced
One Piece fans have a new management game to look forward to with One Piece Grand Gourmet. The Kairosoft-style adventure sees players building and expanding a floating restaurant while recruiting familiar faces from across the series. More than 400 One Piece characters will appear in the game, which launches on October 23.
Pokémon Pokopia Heads Under the Sea
A free update for Pokémon Pokopia is arriving in August, allowing players to build and explore a brand-new underwater area. Nintendo also announced a paid Expansion Pass featuring additional content, including a new town known as Bubbly Basin.
Fire Emblem: Fortunes Weave Showcases More Story and Strategy
Nintendo has offered a deeper look at Fire Emblem: Fortunes Weave, revealing more of the game’s story and gameplay ahead of its launch later this year.
Fans of Fire Emblem: Three Houses will likely feel right at home, with the game featuring free-time activities that allow players to explore, build relationships, and recruit new allies between battles. These social elements appear to play a significant role in shaping both the story and your army.
Combat has also received a fresh presentation, with battles taking place in arena-style environments that put the focus firmly on tactical decision-making. Visually, the game continues to impress, sporting a colourful art style that bears a resemblance to Monster Hunter Stories 3 while still maintaining its own identity.
Fire Emblem: Fortunes Weave launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17.

Ninjala 2 Heads to an Uncharted Planet
GungHo has announced Ninjala 2: The Uncharted Planet for Nintendo Switch 2. The sequel takes the series in a more ambitious direction with an open-world action adventure structure, while still supporting online and local multiplayer for up to four ninjas. The game is scheduled to launch in Spring 2027.
Donkey Kong Challenge Event Begins Tomorrow
Nintendo is introducing DK Challenge, a new Nintendo Switch Online event that works similarly to an achievement system. Players can complete challenges across Donkey Kong titles available through Nintendo Switch Online, as well as Donkey Kong Bananza, to unlock collectible digital cards. The limited-time event runs from tomorrow until September 1.
Nintendo also announced a crossover event for the Emerald Isle DLC in Donkey Kong Bananza. The collaboration adds Mario-themed costumes for both Donkey Kong and Pauline, with content rolling out across four waves. The first wave is available today.
Jujutsu Kaisen Meets Vampire Survivors
Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton has been revealed as a new spin-off inspired by the survivor-style gameplay popularised by Vampire Survivors. Developed by Poncle, the game features an adversarial multiplayer twist where players build up their strength throughout a run before facing one another in a final showdown.
Lords of the Fallen Arrives on Switch 2
The dark fantasy action RPG Lords of the Fallen is making its way to Nintendo Switch 2. The trailer showcased impressive visuals and punishing combat that should appeal to fans of Elden Ring and other Soulslike adventures. It launches in Autumn 2026.
Lies of P: Complete Edition Launches in August
Nintendo Switch 2 owners will be able to experience the full puppet-filled nightmare when Lies of P: Complete Edition launches on August 6. Players can customise weapons, develop unique combat styles, and make choices throughout the story that influence their fate.
Devil May Cry 5 Joins the Switch 2 Line-Up
Capcom has confirmed Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition for Nintendo Switch 2. Running at 60 frames per second and including previously released DLC, the stylish action game arrives on June 23.
Vanillaware and Marvelous Reveal Muramasa: Revenant Blades
A brand-new collaboration between Vanillaware and Marvelous has been announced with Muramasa: Revenant Blades. While details remain limited for now, the reveal trailer showcased the stunning hand-drawn art style both studios are known for.
Xenoblade Chronicles Trilogy Gets Switch 2 Upgrades
Nintendo is bringing enhanced versions of Xenoblade Chronicles, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 to Switch 2.
The upgrades include support for up to 4K resolution when docked and 1080p in handheld mode, alongside new gameplay additions for each title. Xenoblade Chronicles gains high-speed vehicles to help players explore its vast world, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 allows players to directly control Blades, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 introduces a new endless wave mode. Nintendo teased additional gameplay enhancements that will be revealed at a later date, with the first update available today.
Xenoblade Genesis Announced for Switch 2
A major surprise for RPG fans, unveiling Xenoblade Genesis, a brand-new entry in Monolith Soft’s acclaimed series.
Set in the world of Anima, the trailer appears to take players further into the franchise’s past, introducing a new cast of characters and a world filled with sprawling landscapes, ancient conflicts, and towering creatures. Combat showcased a mix of melee and ranged attacks, with heroes wielding swords, bows, and other traditional weapons.
One of the biggest highlights was the ability to soar across the world on the back of a dragon, suggesting exploration will once again play a major role in the adventure. Visually, Xenoblade Genesis builds upon the style established in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 while taking advantage of Nintendo Switch 2’s increased power, delivering larger environments and impressive environmental detail.
While gameplay details remain limited for now, the reveal trailer certainly delivered the sense of scale and ambition fans have come to expect from the series.
Xenoblade Genesis is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Brings a Whole New Line-Up of Activities
Nintendo has revealed Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, a major new entry in the popular party sports series that significantly expands the range of activities on offer.
The game features a huge selection of sports and recreational events, including archery, boxing, table tennis, volleyball, bowling, basketball, golf, thumb wrestling, skateboarding, jet ski racing through the new Powercruising mode, prop plane flying, and even jump rope challenges.
Players can choose between a new cast of anime-inspired characters or create and play as their own Mii, giving the game a blend of modern and classic Nintendo charm.
The trailer focused heavily on multiplayer fun, with many of the activities appearing designed for friendly competition and local gatherings. Between traditional sports and more unusual events like thumb wrestling and prop plane racing, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort looks set to offer one of the most varied collections of activities the series has seen to date.

Hello Kitty Party Land Brings the Fun This October
Sanrio fans have plenty to look forward to with Hello Kitty Party Land. The colourful multiplayer title features 40 minigames, support for up to four players, and more than 140 characters to meet throughout the adventure. Players can also collect stickers as they progress. The game launches on October 29.
Star Fox Returns Later This Month
Nintendo shared another look at Star Fox, showcasing more of the fast-paced aerial combat and cinematic action fans can expect. The game continues to look fantastic and remains one of the most exciting titles shown during the Direct. It launches on June 25, with a free demo available to download today.
Final Fantasy Resonance Revealed
Square Enix has announced Final Fantasy Resonance, a gorgeous new HD-2D adventure that embraces the series’ classic roots. The turn-based RPG features a traditional fantasy setting and introduces a Vision system that allows players to summon legendary heroes from across the Final Fantasy franchise. It launches on October 22.
Pikuniku 2 Keeps Things Weird
The delightfully strange world of Pikuniku is returning with Pikuniku 2. While details remain limited, the reveal trailer showcased the quirky humour, unusual characters, and offbeat action-adventure gameplay that helped the original stand out.
Dragon Quest Monsters Returns
Square Enix has unveiled Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, the latest entry in the long-running monster-collecting spin-off series. Players will recruit monsters from across the Dragon Quest universe, synthesise them into stronger allies, level up their teams, and take on challenging battles throughout a brand-new adventure.
Duskbloods Gets a New Trailer and Network Test Announcement
Nintendo and FromSoftware have shared another look at Duskbloods, offering a glimpse into the game’s story and mysterious world.
Fans won’t have to wait too long to get hands-on with the game either, as Nintendo confirmed that a closed network test is planned for Summer 2026. More details on registration and participation are expected to be shared closer to the testing period.
Splatoon Raiders Gets a Closer Look Ahead of Dedicated Direct
Nintendo has shared an extended look at Splatoon Raiders, giving fans a better idea of what to expect from the series’ new single-player adventure.
Players take on the role of a mechanic, using a combination of gadgets, equipment, and a robotic companion to explore the world and battle Salmonoid threats. The footage showcased progression systems that allow players to level up as they fight, suggesting a greater focus on character growth and customisation than previous Splatoon adventures.
The presentation also highlighted more of the game’s environments and mission structure, further separating it from the traditional multiplayer-focused experiences the series is known for.
Nintendo confirmed that a dedicated Splatoon Raiders Direct will air on June 30, 2026, where additional gameplay details and announcements are expected to be revealed.

Minecraft Gets a Switch 2 Upgrade

Kingdom Hearts Trilogy Collection Comes to Switch 2
After years of cloud-based releases, Nintendo fans will finally be able to experience the Kingdom Hearts Trilogy Collection natively on Switch 2.
The collection brings together the beloved adventures of Sora, Donald, and Goofy in a single package, while also supporting save data transfers from the existing cloud versions. That means returning players can continue their journeys without starting from scratch.
The Kingdom Hearts Trilogy Collection launches on October 8.
Kingdom Hearts 4 Confirmed for Switch 2
In one of the biggest reveals of the Direct, Kingdom Hearts 4 has officially been confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2.
The new trailer showcased stunning visuals, larger environments, and a more realistic art style while retaining the fast-paced action and Disney-inspired charm the series is known for. The footage offered another glimpse at Sora’s latest adventure and demonstrated just how impressive the game looks running on Nintendo’s new hardware.
Square Enix confirmed that Kingdom Hearts 4 will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 alongside other platforms, marking a major moment for fans who have been waiting to see the next mainline entry arrive on Nintendo hardware.
A release date has yet to be announced.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Announced for Switch 2
Nintendo has delivered what may be the biggest surprise of the entire Direct, officially revealing a full remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2.
Only a brief teaser was shown… The footage featured a dramatically reimagined version of the beloved Nintendo 64 classic, with visuals that appeared far beyond a simple remaster. While Nintendo did not confirm whether the trailer consisted of cinematic sequences, gameplay footage, or a combination of both, the project appears to be aiming for the kind of large-scale treatment seen in Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Remake series.
Details remain scarce for now, with Nintendo promising more information at a later date. What we do know is that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 later this year.
If this remake lives up to the promise of its first teaser, it could become one of the most significant Nintendo releases of the generation.
