Nintendo has added a fresh batch of retro titles to Nintendo Switch Online, giving fans of classic handheld and home console games even more reasons to revisit the service.
On the Nintendo Entertainment System app, players can now jump into Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos and the legendary Battletoads. Battletoads holds a special place in my heart. It was one of my all-time favourite NES games, and I hired it from Blockbuster more times than I can count. Seeing it join the library feels like a small personal victory.
Game Boy fans also have a solid set of new arrivals. Bionic Commando and Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters round out the update with a mix of action and platforming fun. Each of these titles offers something a little different, and they stack nicely alongside the growing catalogue of handheld greats.
These updates continue Nintendo’s steady approach to expanding the service with memorable classics. It is a good month to revisit the retro apps and see how well these games hold up on Switch.
