No Man’s Sky Adrift Expedition Guide

Share:

G’day Gamers, welcome to my first proper guide for No Man’s Sky: Adrift Expedition. I made a lot of mistakes so you don’t have to, and I guarantee you will save a lot of time if you follow this guide to complete the Expedition. Now, I want to keep the introduction short so we can get straight into things but there’s a few things you should know. This guide isn’t in order of objectives, I have arranged it so it’s as time-efficient as I could be. Another thing is that if you are looking to find the Synthetic Animals for the “It’s Alive” objective, it’s the last thing I do to complete the Expedition so go to the end of the guide to find out the easiest way to find them.

No Man's Sky Adrift Expedition Guide

To start, if you want to have an easier time with this expedition, you can set the difficulties lower with the exception of leaving predators on. This should make completing the Expedition a bit faster too! In order to complete some passive objectives, harvest Whispering eggs on your starter planet and destroy sandworm tendrils to complete the “Still They Hunger” and “Stirring The Nest” objectives. Most planets will have whispering eggs, so don’t stress if you want to move on early. Keep the Larval Cores from the eggs too, as they can be refined into nanites to complete the “Quantum Foam” objective (I will cover this one later on. I also recommend scanning every plant and animal you see until you get the “Life, Reimagined” and “Not Alone” objectives.

Alone in the Dark:

Simply use your visor and head towards your ship. As soon as you get close to it, it will complete and then you can install a Teleporter into your starship and get your Advanced Mining Laser plans.

From The Ashes:

Install the advanced Mining laser into your multitool, you will need to craft and find some materials which shouldn’t prove too much of a challenge. Use your visor to locate 120 units of copper and oxygen-rich plants to make hermetic seal. Ferrite dust to make metal plating. craft and install. You will then receive a deployable Save Point and Personal Refiner Mk2 Plans.

Self Reliance:

Install your Personal Refiner Mk 2… Craft more metal plating, gather oxygen & Condensed carbon. Install that, accept the reward, and head back to your ship.

An Unlikely Escape:

Repair your Ship by fixing the Launch Thruster, Magnetised Ferrit can be refined in your portable refiner. Deuterium is di hydrogen and silicate powder in your portable refiner. You already have a terrain manipulator to harvest the ground for silicate and Di-hydrogen is the blue crystals scattered on every planet.

Your Pulse Engine can be repaired with a Hermetic Seal (crafted by Oxygen from the red harvestable plants) and Metal plating. Take to the skies to complete this objective.

Worlds of Rock and Ice:

As soon as you get into space, Shoot asteroids for tritium and the objective. You will need your pulse engine a lot, so don’t be shy when it comes to stockpiling tritium.

Lights Out:

Land At the Space Station, get out, and head upstairs, achievement will tick. Get hyperdrive plans from the rewards, use the terminal to purchase parts, and refine some of your Copper for chromatic metal to finish the installation.

Independent People, 1st Rendezvous, and The Faintest Echo.

Head to the first Rendezvous, you will complete the “Independant People” objective on your first warp. Land at the signal station. Deploy signal booster from your build menu, and scan for transmitters. Refuel the transmitter with sodium, and boost signal power when prompted to complete “The Faintest Echo” objective.

Amidst the Stars, Call of the Void:

Head to space and summon the Anomaly by pressing down on the d-pad. Land and head to the back of the terminal to find the prime terminal. Learn the recipe for Ark mind. Now we have to craft it.

Hypnotic Eyes from abominations or space stations. Activated copper is on planets orbiting yellow stars outside this system, if you select the second rendevous point, there is a system called Godolsk which is dissonant and contains activated copper and  Atlantideum harvested from living fragments on dissonant planets. While you do this, be sure to extract 3 radiant shards to complete the “Call of the Void” objective. Craft the Ark, return to Anomaly, and input the Ark into the Prime Terminal then head to the boundary portal that becomes highlighted. Use the Ark mind in the portal terminal and head through it. You will eventually end up with your feet on solid ground and the objective will tick over.

You will receive Warp Hypercore plans, and you should be able to craft 5 of them with rewards already obtained. I also recommend crafting your additional warp drives to open up different star colour systems.

Make and do Mend:

Now is as good a time as any to complete your multitool and ship repairs. Most items should be easily accessible, keeping in Mind Cobalt is found on planets much like Copper, Sodium Nitrate comes from refining sodium which can be harvested from sodium-rich plants.

Quantum Foam:

You will organically earn nanites on your journey, but refining Larval Cores will speed up completing this objective.

Time on your feet:

Should tick simply by walking during this expedition. When it ticks over, redeem the rewards.

Scan every animal and plant you see to hit 32 animal targets. Destroy hazardous fauna as you see it

They Still Hunger:

Kill 8 hungering tendrils. They pop up everywhere where there’s a red tendril icon. You can complete this objective on your first planet.

Rendezvous 2, All You Survey:

Rendevous planets 2 and 3 have high mountains, land on them to get the “all you survey” objective. Make sure you have the objective selected for it to tick over, otherwise it won’t register!

To Dream of Stars:

Head to space and activate your pulse engine. You will prompted to leave the slipstream, Go through the dialogue, and select “dream.”

Bones to Dust:

Harvest Ancient Bones is the same as discovering buried technology modules. Find planets that have them and start digging, there are plenty along the journey!

Rendezvous 3:

Head to third rendezvous. Find the rendezvous point, and tick that off your list.

Signs to Nowhere:

Now we need to chart waypoints, it’s a confusing objective but simple to complete. Use your signal booster in the build menu to search for shelters. Most Shelters have a small radar tower you can activate. Do this 12 times. You don’t have to use the signal booster each time either, you can simply fly around the planet and land at any structure represented by the house icon. Once this is complete, head to a planet with a big ocean.

Lure of the Deep, Fathoms Below:

On a water planet, dive beneath the surface and harvest 12 sulphides, harvest 100 salt while you’re under there. Then create a Nautilus chamber. Install a high-power sonar and scan for a sunken freighter to start. Head to the wreckage, activate the terminal in the center of the wreck, and collect your rewards.

Nameless History:

A Scan for alien ruins on a plant using signal boosters. You will need surge batteries for this and you should already have a few in your inventory. Interact with the pyramid object at each location to check it off the list. “Seeking knowledge of the past” leads to valuable treasure, the other option helps you learn the language.

Abandonment:

Now is a good time to find a downed starship to repair, so use your signal booster to scan for damaged ships (make sure you have the objective highlighted.) Simply repair the critical slots to make this objective complete! Head into space.

Dereliction:

Use the signal scanner you got as a reward for the sunken freighter to explore a lost deep space freighter. Simply activate your pulse engine, and use an emergency signal scanner to find the lost frigate. Explore freighter, I recommend extracting nanites upon completion to work towards your Quantum Foam Objective if you haven’t already achieved it.

To Dream of Freedom:

Select the “To Dream of Freedom” Objective and activate your pulse engine. Exit pulse when instructed. Dream.

Rendezvous 4:

Reach the 4th rendezvous point, you should now have Phase 4 complete. Onto Phase 5 and you should have a few things already ticked off.

Ghost in the Machine:

Select Ghost in the Machine Objective. Head to a planet to continue. Crack out the signal booster and search for a signal breach, head to the marker, interact with the grave, and tick another off the list.

By Bread Alone:

Now, use your analysis visor to find wheat, collect some, and then build a food processor. Process the wheat to make flour. Process Facium to make yeast. You should have this in your inventory from a previous reward, if not, buy from the space station. Then refine the flour and wild yeast to make dough. Bake the dough in the processor to make bread and tick that off

A Still, Small Voice:

For the next objective, simply stare up to the sky for 60 seconds at night to see the stars. Take a moment to breathe, we are almost there. Use this meditation time to think about that sweet new hauler you’re about to get. So relaxing. Moving on! Head to the stars!

To Dream of Sleep:

Select “To Dream of sleep” and enter pulse drive. disengage and communicate with the void. Dream.

Final Rendezvous:

Head to the final rendezvous. Land at the location and complete that task. We still have to find synthetic life though. Thankfully, it’s easy from this system

It’s Alive:

Synthetic animals are near the Rendevous 5 system. Head to the rendevous planet then the 2 blue systems near it called “Cauzouhe” and “Hiihuyiu” contain the animals you need. You can complete this as your last step. Hiihuyiu is directly up from the galaxy map, The Planet is called “Rowle” Which will have 2 robotic species. Scan then and head to space. Warp to the nearby blue system called Caozouhe, and land on the planet called Awainsf XV. Scan the last creature and you’ve completed the Expedition!

Finish!

We did it! What a journey. Now you should have possession of your shining new hauler, some cool construction items, and a nifty crab pet too. I hope you enjoyed this expedition, and I’ll see you among the stars!
