It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Square Enix’s 2D-HD games, and now players can dive into the world of OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0 with the newly released consumer demo. All save data from the demo will carry over to the full game, launching on December 4, 2025.
The demo lets players create their own custom protagonist and begin a journey of their own design following the destruction of their hometown. It offers up to three hours of gameplay, covering the Prologue and Chapter 1 of the Master of Wealth, Master of Power, and Master of Fame story arcs. Players can also experience Chapter 1 of the Kindlers of the Flame arc, which introduces the all-new Town Building feature to restore the hometown of Wishvale.
In OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0, players will embark on a story of restoration and retribution across the realm of Orsterra, vying for control over the divine rings. The game includes the core elements fans know and love, while introducing the ability to fully customise the protagonist and rebuild their hometown through the new town-building mechanic. The narrative builds on the mobile game OCTOPATH TRAVELER: Champions of the Continent, adding new story content focused on town restoration and reinterpreted story beats. Returning series features include the iconic HD-2D art style, Path Actions that allow unique interactions with characters, and the Break and Boost battle system, which can turn the tide of combat.
OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0 is now available for pre-order on all platforms. Pre-order bonuses include Travel Provisions, an in-game Support Pack containing five Healing Grape (M), five Inspiriting Plum (M), and two Revitalising Jams, as well as the Icewind Mastery Action Skill for use in battle. Additionally, for fans like myself, the Save Data Bonus Campaign rewards players who have save or play data from relevant demos of OCTOPATH TRAVELER, OCTOPATH TRAVELER II, BRAVELY DEFAULT FLYING FAIRY HD Remaster, DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake, or DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake on their system (or purchase history for some accounts) with bonus items in OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0.
