Overwatch Season 3 Launches 17 June with Shion and Neon Junction
It’s fair to say the recent Overwatch reboot has gone from strength to strength. After a slightly rocky first 24 hours on Nintendo Switch 2, Blizzard quickly steadied the ship, and the hero shooter has become a regular part of my catch-up sessions with friends. I can’t promise my teammates have enjoyed the experience quite as much, as my attempts at keeping everyone alive as Mercy have occasionally attracted some colourful feedback from both friends and viwers alike. Thankfully, that’s more a reflection of my gameplay than the state of Overwatch itself.
With Season 2 finding its footing, Blizzard is now looking ahead with the launch of Season 3: Into the Tiger’s Den, introducing a new hero, map, seasonal event and more. Season 3 takes players to a city caught between beauty and collapse, where neon lights cut through drifting smoke and bustling streets while old grudges, criminal empires and dangerous ambitions simmer beneath the surface. Leading the charge is Shion, the leader of the Hashimoto Clan and one of the most dangerous new heroes to emerge as Talon’s influence continues to spread. Blizzard says the new season is as much about identity and belonging as it is about the battle for control, with a story that explores the people players choose to stand beside when the world feels determined to pull them apart.
