Overwatch Season 4: Heroes of Busan Adds New Tank Hero D.Mon, Battle Pass Revamp and More
Busan is getting ready for another fight in Overwatch Season 4: Heroes of Busan.
The new season puts the spotlight on the city, the MEKA Squad and the idea of what makes Overwatch special: working together, trusting your team and stepping up when things get tough. There’s plenty coming with Season 4, including a brand-new Tank hero, a major overhaul to the Battle Pass, refreshed maps, new in-combat feedback features and plenty of new events and cosmetics.
Meet D.Mon
The biggest addition at launch is D.Mon, who joins the Tank roster with a sword, shield and plenty of MEKA muscle. When Junkers attack Busan and Talon infiltrates the MEKA base, D.Mon puts protecting her city first and rallies the resistance around her. It sounds like it’s time to MEKA Squad up.
A New Way to Approach the Battle Pass
Season 4 is also bringing what Blizzard describes as the biggest update yet to the Overwatch Battle Pass. Rather than working through a fixed order, players will be able to choose which Legendary skin they want to pursue first after completing an introductory track. That means you can prioritise the rewards you actually want, rather than simply following a predetermined path. The revamped Battle Pass will also feature a refreshed interface designed to make progression easier to follow, giving players more choice in how they work through the rewards.
Busan and Other Battlegrounds Get a Refresh
Busan itself is getting a visual update to reflect the events of the new season, with the city bearing the scars of the Junker assault and Talon’s attack on the MEKA base. Elsewhere, Paraíso is getting ready to party, with colourful decorations filling its streets despite Domina looming over the city, or more accurately, looming over it as a giant statue. Eichenwalde is also getting some changes, opening up new routes and traversal options.
More Information During Combat
Season 4 is also adding a range of new in-combat feedback features designed to give players more information during a match. These include a new Team Status Indicator, a Tank Hero Protect stat that highlights life-saving mitigation, multi-kill icons to celebrate kill streaks, clearer healing recognition and damage contribution being added to the Activity Feed. The idea is to make it easier to understand what’s happening during a match and recognise those moments that can make the difference between a win and a loss.
New Skins for Genji and Sojourn
Season 4 will also bring new skins for Genji and Sojourn, alongside a number of events running throughout the season.
Shooting Star: My MEKA Mania!
The three-week Shooting Star: My MEKA Mania! event will put the MEKA Squad in the spotlight. Players will be able to support who they believe in as part of the game show-style event, making the MEKA Squad’s story a little more personal. The event runs from 12 to 31 August AEST.
World Cheer Cup Rally
The World Cheer Cup Rally will give players another way to get behind their favourites as the road to the Overwatch World Cup Finals continues. Running from 2 to 14 September AEST, the event celebrates ten years of Overwatch esports and lets players show their support for the conference they call home.
With Busan under attack, the MEKA Squad ready to defend their city, and D.Mon is joining the Tank roster, Season 4 looks set to put teamwork firmly at the centre of Overwatch.
