It’s always special when a game you talked about in your early days gets a big new update, and that’s exactly what’s happened with Railway Empire 2 on Nintendo Switch. This was one of the first titles I ever covered at What’s It Like.
Kalypso Media and Gaming Minds Studios have just released a hefty update that adds four major DLC packs to the Switch version of Railway Empire 2:
Journey to the East, High Voltage, India, and Bella Italia are now available individually for $15.25 AUD each
Each DLC brings its own set of historically inspired locomotives, new regional maps, scenarios, goods to transport, and immersive campaign content:
Journey to the East introduces luxury train travel and the Balkan region.
High Voltage powers up electric rail systems across five Swiss maps.
India offers sweeping countryside routes with East India Company-era detail.
Bella Italia lets you rebuild and reimagine railways in post-war Italy with stunning visuals and a new musical score.
This update also comes with a staggering number of bug fixes and improvements, so many that they’re too numerous to list here. If you’re a returning player or someone who’s been waiting for a more polished experience, this is a great moment to hop back on board.
