RPG fans are certainly spoiled for choice at the moment, as Tales of Xillia Remastered launches today.
Tales of Xillia Remastered is a revitalised edition of Tales of Xillia, originally released in 2011. Players will explore the magnificent world of Rieze Maxia, where humans and spirits coexist in harmony. The adventure can be experienced through the perspective of Milla Maxwell, a mysterious woman accompanied by four powerful spirits, or Jude Mathis, an aspiring medical student from the capital. Their paths soon intertwine as they uncover a dangerous secret: the kingdom of Rashugal is using a weapon that drains mana, threatening the balance of the entire world. Determined to restore order, Milla and Jude set out on a daring quest to destroy the device and save their world.
The remastered version introduces several quality-of-life enhancements, including auto-save functionality, destination icons for smoother exploration, and early access to the Grade Shop. Players can also choose to disable general enemy encounters at any time, allowing them to focus on story progression.
A major gameplay upgrade comes in the form of the Dual Raid Linear Motion Battle System, a real-time combat feature that lets players team up with allies to unleash powerful combo attacks and activate special support skills to overwhelm foes. Tales of Xillia Remastered also includes downloadable content from the original release, featuring character costumes, bonus items, and other fan-favourite extras.
