As someone who absolutely adores Square Enix’s HD-2D catalogue, it has been exciting to watch The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales take shape. The publisher has now released a free demo for the upcoming action RPG from Team Asano across Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Xbox on PC, giving players an early chance to begin their journey through Philabieldia ahead of the game’s launch on June 18, 2026.
Progress made in the demo will carry over to the full release, making it an easy way for players to jump straight into the adventure next month. Those who already played the Debut Demo can also expect several updates based on player feedback, including faster base movement speed for Elliot, a new difficulty option, and a range of quality-of-life improvements.
Physical and digital pre-orders for The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales are now available across all platforms. Players who pre-order either edition will receive Elliot’s Departure Pack, which includes a Departure Brooch accessory that increases the amount of currency and magicite fragments dropped by enemies, alongside Attack Up sword magicite.
In The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, Elliot and Faie travel across a vast world spanning four different ages, filled with enemy hordes, hidden caves, and ancient ruins. Elliot can equip seven weapon types, ranging from swords to chains and sickles capable of pulling enemies closer, with each weapon able to be customised through magicite. Faie’s magic abilities also play an important role both in and out of combat, helping players attack enemies, retrieve distant items, and assist with exploration.
