Valheim 1.0 Launches on Nintendo Switch 2, September 9 With Full Cross-Play
Valheim 1.0 launches on September 9, bringing new enemies to defeat, fresh weapons to craft, and even more opportunities to build the Viking settlement of your dreams. The full release will arrive on PC, Linux, Mac, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and, for the first time, Nintendo Switch 2. Full cross-platform play will be available across all versions, making it easy to team up with friends regardless of where they’re playing.
For me, Valheim has always been two very different experiences. I’ve spent countless hours on my own server, quietly expanding a base, gathering resources, and treating the game as a relaxing escape. Playing with friends was a completely different story, starting with simple shelters, which quickly turned into sprawling guild halls, ambitious building projects, and epic battles against hordes of monsters. The arrival of Valheim on Nintendo Switch 2 means even more players will be able to create those kinds of stories when version 1.0 launches this September.
