Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is available now on Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2. When playing in TV mode, the game supports up to 4K resolution at up to 60 fps. In handheld mode, it runs at up to 1080p and up to 60 fps.
In this sci-fi RPG, the year is 2054, and Earth has been destroyed. A colony ship of human survivors, including your customisable main character, escapes the devastation but crash-lands on the mysterious planet Mira. Players explore a vast and dangerous world while fighting for humanity’s future.
The game features an action-focused battle system with a range of special attacks and skills, alongside enemies of varying types and sizes. Players can also pilot Skells, mech-like machines capable of flying, transforming into vehicles, and delivering powerful attacks in combat. Access to a Skell requires proving yourself to the BLADE organisation.
Online, players can join squads of up to 31 others to complete tasks such as collecting items or defeating specific enemies. Up to four squad members can team up to take on powerful foes. Players can also recruit the avatars of other players into their main story party.
For those who already own Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition on Nintendo Switch, an upgrade pack is available now. A physical version of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will be released on April 16, 2026.
