Harry Potter and the Mandatory Day 1 Patch

Portkey Games has announced that a mandatory day 1 patch will be the first thing to greet young wizards and witches on November 14th when Hogwarts Legacy finally releases on Switch. Why is something like a day 1 update newsworthy? Well, this patch in particular is a whopping 8 gig, which is huge by Switch Standards taking up roughly 1/4 of your internal storage. It should also be noted that the base digital game only weighs in at 6.8 gigs.

While there hasn’t been a lot of news related to the port since it was delayed, the E-shop listing recently showed some new screenshots which you can see below. It looks pretty much exactly as I expected, a slightly cut down version of the Xbox and PS4 versions of the game with lower texture resolutions. How it runs will be anyone’s guess, but we won’t have to wait long to experience some (hopefully) Hogwarts magic.
